Oakmont League prepares for 80th Anniversary with Oral History Project
April 10, 2019
The Oakmont League of Glendale celebrates it's 80th Anniversary this year. In preparation for the celebration event in June, the organization is collaborating with Glendale Community College professor, Robyn Fishman and her Women's Studies classes to compile an oral history of the Oakmont League and it's impact on members and the community. Oakmont League members welcomed Prof. Fishman and her students to their March luncheon meeting to begin the process of documenting significant items to the club. Memory books, old programs, historic legal documents and the club's silver tea service were just some of the items photographed by the GCC team. Members discussed the significance of these items and described them to the students. It was an energetic meeting as members and students looked through old photos and members reminisced about fun events and projects over the years.
