The March 18th benefit “All in on Oakmont League”, was a huge success and fun was had by all.  There were about 100 guests. As guests arrived, they received a gold envelope which contained everything they needed for the evening including their “Raise the Paddle” number, gambling chip and menu selection for dinner.

Everyone seemed to really enjoy kicking off the evening by gathering at the open bar and meeting up with friends. Many of the guests headed directly off to gamble. Those who had never gambled before enjoyed learning the games in a relaxed atmosphere.  Others shopped in the boutique, which was perfectly arranged by Mary Broerman and Mary Kay Prather.

Mary Wells and Liz Reed had beautiful table arrangements with an accent of poker cards strategically placed around the club.

We’ve received very positive comments on the dinner, and members liked having wine pre-ordered and pre-placed at their tables ready to share with their guests.

Our master of ceremonies for the evening was Sean Van Straatum, the Assistant General Manager of the Oakmont Country Club.  He ran an extremely successful “Raise the Paddle to fund our scholarships.

The big winner of the 50/50 drawing was Kim Klosterman who donated the money back to the Oakmont League.  Many thanks to Kim.

Katherine Yamada introduced Patsy Dewey and Carolyn Beaton as our honorees.  Our President, Pam Sorem, presented them each with the traditional mementos.
